It comes with the Territory

The True North Awaits You

Established by a government decree in 1971, the Peneda-Gerês National Park is the only National Park in Portugal, extending from the plateau of Castro Laboreiro to the plateau of Mourela, covering the mountain ranges of Peneda, Soajo, Amarela, and Gerês. The Park encompasses much more than just the fragile balance between wildlife and human presence and has a rich historical and cultural heritage (megalithic necropolis, traces of Roman presence, castles, traditional granaries with corncobs, ovens, mills, dams, terraces, and much more). Here, visitors are invited to live, feel and breathe the primordial culture of rural living in northern Portugal.

But the North is much more than just the Park. From the beautiful Vez Valley and the glamourous village of Sistelo to the mountainous region of the Montesinho Natural Park, the North will amaze and surprise you every step of the way. Amazing old cities like Guimarães, Braga, Viana do Castelo, among others, wait for your visit to reveal their secrets and mysteries.

The Best for Food and Wine

We are proud to say that everything that is included in our picnics is “Made In Portugal”.

Come and feast with our DOP (Protected Denomination of Origin) smoked meats and sausages, cheeses, and even fruits. And what better way to savour the flavours than lingering with a glass of wine under an old oak tree? Wether a fresh Vinho Verde or a sparkling wine, always from DOC (Controlled Denomination of Origin) origin.

Finish your meal with some sweets, whose roots go back to the many convents where they were originally prepared, even today making us “give thanks to heaven”. Add a freshly brewed coffee, and off we go for the next landmark.
