Trail of the Sanctuaries
A chance to get to know better the forest trails of Braga, which we will use to visit the Sanctuaries of Bom Jesus and Nossa Senhora do Sameiro. Along the way we will also experience the views from the Santa Marta das Cortilas viewpoint and visit more places of worship. A perfect plan for a holiday morning.
The Mines of Carris
The ex-libris of hiking trails in the Peneda-Geres National Park, not so much for its technical challenges, but more for the lenght of the walk itself and the stunning views that you can enjoy dring the route. The ruins of the mining complex are a symbol of a once powerful industry rooted in the history of the world itself. The eeriness of the place must be lived, as it can't be described.
The Bridges and Roman Way Trail
The most beautiful setting awaits you in this part of the Peneda-Gerês National Park where human influence is still barely noticeable and nature shows itself in all its glory. We will walk the ancient roman road, battered by the steps of millenia, cruise through the Mata de Albergaria and explore several river crossings. Nature and peace are the highlights of this trail.
Brandas e Passadiços de Sistelo
In the small Sistelo village, also known as the portuguese Tibet, we well pass trough old paths in the sculptured steps that make this small village so popular. To finish it perfectly, we will also walk the walkway along the margins of the Vez River. A perfect program for the World Environment Day.
The Wolf Trail of Pitões
Come and walk the wolf trail in Pitões das Júnias. A wild trekking around the São João da Fraga chapel, watching over the valley perched on its rocky outcrop. Wolf traps, secret pools and waterfalls, shepherd huts, oak forests...so much to see, in such a small area. Technically moderate, the difficulty lies in navigating the elevation changes. Requires some fitness.
Trail of Preguiça and Leonte
In the heart of the national park, guarded by the shadows of the oaks of Mata de Albergaria we will get to visit two of the famous "Park Rangers" houses and also two waterfalls. This trail is perfect for families wanting to spend a different Saturday morning, with the beautiful landscape, heritage, and streams making it picture perfect!
